This is the latch on the door of the Gallery at Twelve Acre Hill. This bright sunny day the door was wide open welcoming visitors. I hadn’t really noticed the rough piece of metal that lines the edge of the door until the slanting sun produced this complex shadow line. This style of latch is the closure on many of the rooms in the old farm house here and are constant reminders that we are living in buildings that have been here for more than 125 years.
