I love painting water; trying to capture the fluid movement. Water is in essence clear, but it reflects and refracts all of the colours around it. The sky lends water it’s blue sheen and the sand and rocks below become magnified and add their colours to the lens provided by the water as it curls and moves above. Rockweed caught in the swirling eddies gives shape to the patterns of movement below the surface. The constantly changing, but ever constant, turn of the tide can be mesmerizing.
