Lexicon Word – “Chrysalis”

This building fascinates me. Every time I drive past I wonder about its history. It is a single story at road level and two at the rear. There are doors and windows at irregular heights and placements. It is lovingly maintained and glows with a fresh coat of white paint. One day I noticed a large door at the side was open and lurking in the shadow was a fishing boat undergoing maintenance or being kept in winter storage. It was a beautiful early spring day with clear light and vibrant colours of the world reawakening from winter – the boat soon to emerge into the sunshine.

Currently available at Round Hill Studio in Annapolis Royal as part of the group show “Lexicon”.
