A Christmas visit to Ross Farm in New Ross, Lunenburg County was a wonderful source of inspiration for painting this year. This particular door checked many boxes with it’s weathered wood and brightly coloured flecks of paint. Inanimate objects can tell a story. Patterns of wear suggest how they have been used and in this case the range of materials from wrought iron to a slice of old rubber tire indicate that this outbuilding has served the farm across the years.
