This painting is one of several that were inspired by a visit to Ross Farm Museum in New Ross, Nova Scotia. The original farm house dates to the early 19th century and although inhabited well into the 20th century, little has changed. A shelf in the kitchen held this collection of kettle, jug and measuring tins. The morning light was cast perfectly on the composition and the variety of materials and finishes was too tempting to resist.
