Beach Rocks

This beach juts into the shipping lane of Halifax Harbour from McNabs Island. Rocks worn smooth by the movement of the swell pack tightly together and ,left wet by the receeding tide, reveal a rainbow of earthy colours. DETAILS 36″x48″ Acrylic on canvas DATE 2007 Original Painting Sold.

The Ovens

The cliffs at the Ovens Park in Lunenburg County seem a world apart from the granite that is so prevalent on much of the South Shore of Nova Scotia. The striated iron stone that can be so dark and slick on a rainy day, reveals a wide range of siennas and ochres in bright sunshine…

Hangman’s Beach

One of my favourite beaches is on McNab’s Island in Halifax Harbour. Beautiful smooth stones in a long horizontal swath; the colours of beach glass evoke ideas of the sea pounding just beyond view. Fish Store Roof

Peggy’s Cove retains many of it’s old wooden fish stores. Still in use by local fishers they have been re-roofed with modern materials to withstand the elements, but lichen and moss in their wide range of textures and colours thrive regardless.   DETAILS 24″x28″ Acrylic on Canvas DATE 2007 Original Painting Sold

Hydrangea

Each August the peegee hydrangea at our home in Seabright bursts into bloom. It’s sprays of white blossoms thrust into the sunlight from the mysterious depths of its’ branches. DETAILS 24″x36″ Acrylic on canvas DATE 2009 Original Painting Sold.

Fish Store Window

The old shingled fish stores at Peggy’s Cove appear as they have for many years; almost as much a part of nature as the lichen covered rocks on which they are perched. There is, however, a modern life within. DETAILS 24″x36″ Acrylic on canvas DATE 2011 Original Painting Sold. Also available as a Limited Edition Archival…

Wild Daisies

Wild daisies salt the fields of Nova Scotia throughout the summer. Mounds of green spears are capped by these small flowers swaying in the wind.   DETAILS 8″x10″ Acrylic on canvas DATE 2011 Original Painting Sold. Also available as a Limited Edition Archival Print.
